Provenance: ex collection Baron Alexander von Bach (1813 - 1893), first Minister of Justice and then Minister of the Interior, a leading figure in the Government and envoi to the Holy See in Rome. In this latter function Bach, a passionate collector, acquired the present painting, which was originally kept at the family’s residence, Weikersdorf Palace, in Baden. Later on, it entered a private collection in Langenlois.
