Certificate: Prof. Giancarlo Sestieri has confirmed this to be an autograph work by Gennaro Greco. He writes that both capricci are typical of work by the Neapolitan painter, Gennaro Greco, called Mascacotta. Alongside Leonardo Coccorante, Gennaro Greco is considered to be the main exponent of this approach to this particular type of Neapolitan painting.
Paintings by the master are to be found in the collections of the Correale Museum in Sorrento, the Palazzo Martina in Naples, the museums in Rouen and Tours, France, as well as in the Royal Collections in Copenhagen.”
