Certificate: Prof. Giancarlo Sestieri, 22 December 2000. Prof. Sestieri considers this work to be an important addition to Mola’s oeuvre.
The subject is taken from Ovid’s Metamorphoses. The nymph, Arethusa is wrapped in a cloud by the goddess, Diana, in order to hide her from the pursuit of the river god, Alpheus.
