These two still lifes by Bartolomeo Bettera are heavily influenced by Evaristo Baschenis. Besides musical instruments, Bettera’s still lifes also include such objects as globes, sculptures, elaborate curtains, rugs painted to resemble reliefs, and books. There are only a few paintings by Bettera executed in such a delicate style; another example is at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.
