This SISTER BLISTER light object developed for the AIDS conference will be sold here to support About SISTER BLISTERSince 2003, Karl Emilio Pircher and Fidel Peugeot have been working together with Karin Simonitsch, a pharmacist who runs her own chemist’s shop in Vienna and who is always open for new ideas. She uses a computer-controlled packaging machine called “Daisy” for assembling drugs for hospital wards and nursing homes. The coloured blister packs left over after the pills and tablets have been removed attracted the designers’ attention and were transformed into light objects. Each of these floor, hanging, or table lamps is a unique item in terms of form, colour, and detail. The discarded blister packs’ combination of partially coloured aluminium foil and transparent plastic perfectly lends itself to the reflection of light. All of the light objects are produced by Pircher & Peugeot as “made by the artists” and have been exhibited since 2007.
