Provenance: Kornfeld auction, Berne June 21st, 1985, lot 167. A splendid and contemporary impression of the V. state (of V), with the retouches in the background and the vertical hatchings at upper and lower margins. With reinforced outlines of the hat; the landscape and the face of Rembrandt considerably faded. A velvety black impression with palpable burr in the areas of dry-point, excellently preserved. Very rare in this quality.
