Juny 1792", finial in the form of enamelled Hungarian Royal coat of arms with the crown of St Stephen, this set with diamonds, the coat of arms in fine enamel paintwork, total height 153,5 cm, in original mahogany case, (Lu)
The ceremonial staff offered here was used on the occasion of the coronation of Franz I on 6th June 1792 in Buda by Lord Chamberlain Carl Hieronymus Count (Prince) Palffy. Carl Hieronymus Count Palffy (1735-1816), Prince from 1807, served in numerous honorary positions, including; court chancellor of Hungary and Siebenbürgen as well as Lord Chamberlain. In this position he held a key role in coronation ceremonies. Historically important object for Hungarian history. Provenance: Princes of Palffy.
