Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylonia, Receiving Back His Kingdom, oil on canvas, 138 x 165 cm, framed,
Because of his arrogance, King Nebuchadnezzar lost his sanity and was forced to live like an animal for seven years. He was told that his position would be restored if he recognized the divine power of the Lord. And so it happened. Nebuchadnezzar lived in the wilderness, crawling on all fours. He ate grass like an ox, and his hair and nails were no longer cut. When the seven years were over, he praised the Lord who humbles the proud, and his kingdom was restored.
