A rare gilded metal mounted vase with peacocks,
the mount manufactured by Orion, Nuremberg, c. 1904/05, the ceramic body decorated lustred glaze, the gilded and partially polychrome painted pewter mount decorated with moulded peacocks, the foot inlaid with “peacock’s eyes” of greenish blue glass, the underside with impressed factory mark Orion 272, H 25 cm, (B).
