Comics and Comic Art
Old comics have become a popular collector’s item. Collectors will find well-known comic series such as Micky Mouse, Donald Duck, Scrooge & Co, and adventure stories with Nick, Sigurd, Silberpfeil or Tarzan. Uncle Scrooge, brought into existence in 1947 by the father of ingenious US comic artist Carl Banks (1901-2000), continues to amuse both children and adults today. The most famous motif – “the richest duck in the world” and his morning bath in the gold stored in his treasure vault. Original drawings and lithography are also included in the Dorotheum comic auctions, as are commercial cells and rare figures.
