Furniture and the decorative arts
Our wide range of offerings covers all important styles and epochs. Selected furniture and furnishings from the period of the Renaissance through to Art Nouveau are offered four times a year as part of our important Auction Weeks. Furniture auctions for which there are no catalogues are held twice a week at the Palais Dorotheum and include a wide and multifaceted variety of pieces. Particular highlights of recent auctions were the auctioning of an elaborately decorated Louis XVI chest of drawers from the ambit of J.G. Fiedler for 288,000 euros and a magnificent French parlour chest of drawers from the third quarter of the 18th century, finally going to a French collector for 108,000 euros, and a large Empire table from the Austro-Hungarian monarchy which outdid expectations by a factor of four, achieving a price of 202,800 euros.
