The sale at the Palais Dorotheum in Vienna offers lovers of technological gimmicks and photographic experts a selection of vintage cameras and equipment, such objects from the pre-cinema period as cameras obscura, projectors, and various technical and optical devices. Classic photographic apparatuses and accessories are offered at auction twice a year within the framework of the sale “Ancient Scientific Instruments and Globes”. Our offer ranges from early models, such as classic Leica cameras, to devices from the early period of photography, as well as medium-format cameras by Hasselblad or Franke & Heidecke’s Rolleiflex.
In 2006 the Dorotheum succeeded in selling the entire equipment of the Wiener Lichtbildner Club, Vienna’s first photographic club. The collection comprised a library, a collection of photographs, as well as cameras and furnishings.
Our experts are at your disposal for evaluations. This service is free of charge and involves no obligation.
