The “Teatrini”, the little theatres, are amongst Lucio Fontana’s last works. Although here his means of expression is two-dimensional, this is, however, lent a three-dimensional aspect. “Concetto spaziale” – Teatrino, from 1965, presents a large-scale, intensive blue background, framed by dark blue wings. Wave-like silhouettes effect a lively play of shadow.
