DescriptionChina, approx. 54 x 64 cm, late 19th century, embroidery of silk and gold thread with a dragon as the main motif and various animal and luck symbols were worn on the robe of a Chinese official to symbolize his rank, on black silk ground fabric framed by matching fabric and mounted on gold-coloured silk, some tears to the sensitive ground fabric, otherwise in good condition.
