DescriptionWest Turkestan, made 1st half of the 19th century, approx. 112 x 170 cm, As 2= asymmetrical knot, open to the right, unlayered; H 30, V 33 = approx. 990 kts. per sqm, an unusually large "zigzag" Tshowal with three complete central ornaments with coarse knotting, due to the use of green and yellow tones, the workmanship must be assigned to a Beshir group, the archaic tree abstractions on the wide ends are exceptionally impressive, comparable pieces can be found in Loges Table 101 and in the Pinner Collection, however in smaller formats, upper end hemmed with original kilim end, lower end somewhat reduced in parts, but with remains of the brown end strip preserved, narrow sides with restored Shirazi, larger areas of loss backed with red fabric, pile in good condition in the undamaged areas.
