DescriptionWest Turkestan, approx. 140 x 115 cm, 1st half of the 19th century, the tent entrance carpet is among the rare examples of the "animal-tree Engsis", usually the animal pairs are facing the tree of life in the lower cross bar, in this piece they extend further alongside the main border and two animals even keep watch in the upper section, excellent pile condition with original ends, only minor repairs and a supplement at the lower end.
