These reliefs are basic compositions of line, colour and movement in very simple shapes applied directly to a surface. The projection of artificial or natural light alters such factors in their plastic values. This creates fresh images and a different experience of space, implied by the real elements projected from external planes on the plane of the painted surface. The relations between shapes and colours are not seen merely from the front, but as if the spectator were at one and the same time both in front of, above and below the image. As these works tend to transform infinite space into a unity of experience, through different values perceived in visual symbols, I call them „cartographies“. These refer to various types of movement, composition and formal relations, which are not always physical, but rather imaginary and psychological.
