Very fine portrait by the important Viennese portrait and historical painter Johann Ender. Archduchess Maria Theresa (1816-1867), daughter of Archduke Charles, was Abbess of the convent for women of the nobility at the Prague Hradcany between 1834-1835. In 1835 she married King Ferdinand II of Naples and Sicily. The portrait offered here is mentioned by Friedrich von Bötticher in Malerwerke des 19. Jhs, p. 283.
