Aulus Cornelius Celsus (born c. 25 B.C. - c. 50 A.D.) was a Roman encyclopaedist and one of the most important medical writers of the 1st century A.D. The medical part of his encyclopaedia comprised eight volumes and was the first classical medical treatise. Following its rediscovery, it was printed in 1426.
