Southwest Persia (Iran), c. 263 (298) x 160 cm, second half of the 19th century, a rare carpet of the Ainalu tribes, with red background and a meticulously executed pattern repeat, three midnight blue stepped diamond medallions, very good colour condition with unique light-blue inner border, this piece is in a superb state of preservation with deep pile wool and large, brocaded woven finishes on both sides, lower end with palas weave, upper end with braided warp threads, original multicolour shirazi, finely knotted.
