The “cut” that breaks the traditional concept of a finished form, of a complete form, serves both an expressive purpose, which shows empty spaces and coagulation in the matter, and the affirmative purpose of the liberating gesture of “doing”. Leoncillo writes: “Cutting the clay with the wire is performing a cruel, liberating, decisive act. The clay is like my own flesh, it is a process of absolute identification”.
