1956 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL
This 190 SL was delivered to its first owner in March 1956, which makes it a very early model, still without the clock in the glovebox cover. What is special about this example is that it was ordered with a third seat in the rear, an option rarely seen on these cars. Its number identifies the engine as the original one according to the manufacturer certificate. Between 2006 and 2008 around 35.000 Euros were invested in this SL. The engine was rebuilt, the interior was renewed, the same with brakes, electrics and instruments. Also a reliable Stromberg carburetor was fitted to replace its dodgy Solex counterparts. Since the restoration was finished the car has seen use only in sunny summer weather, which made the rainy day photoshoot a real premiere!
Please note: when registered in Austria the body number was mistaken for the chassis number.
