West Turkestan, c. 245 (312) x 235 cm, second half of the 19th century, old central carpets of the Saryk tribes displaying such quality as the present one are possibly even harder to find than items produced by the Salor tribes, 5 x 12 Saryk guls with simplified secondary guls, despite omitting silk parts the weaver used cotton for the white areas, both kilim ends with several repairs are exceptionally preserved in their entirety, partly low pile with only minor repairs, the so-called ‘chessboard’ shirazi has been replaced on both sides.
