Salon chest of drawers,
France, Transition period, circa 1770/80, stamped J. SCHMITZ (Joseph Schmitz, maître, from 1761). Made in oak with rosewood and amaranth veneer, richly decorated with floral marquetry in various partly dyed fine woods, with a polished finish, 2 “sans traverse” drawers, gilt bronze mounts and a moulded marble top (Gris Sainte Anne), 88 x 114 x 51 cm. In fine, restored condition. (MIN)
