An unusual heddle pulley made of light brown wood, originally of dark brown colour. Surmounted by the head of a masked dancer wearing a ‘kpelie mask’. The mask type is common among the Senufo. The body of the heddle pulley is decorated with geometric lines and patterns in relief. With good usage patina. Heddle available, a wooden rod serves as the axis. First half of the 20th century; H: 20 cm. (ME)
