We are grateful to Ellis Dullaart of the RKD for confirming the present painting as an autograph work of Pieter de Neyn on the basis of a photograph.
She dates it to the year 1635/38 and points out that the depiction of such a prominent, real building as the Church of Voorschoten is very rare in de Neyn’s oeuvre.
