France, Transition period, last quarter of the 18th century. Made in mahogany and tulipwood veneer with marquetry ornament and panels in maple and burnt maple. The piece has three drawers, the lower two being sans traverse, and a marble top. 86 x 123 x 52 cm. Some ageing and evidence of restoration. (PZ)
