Bucharest (Romania), c. 161 x 115 cm, about 1930, symmetrical knot with H 35, V 40 = 1,400 kts/sqm, the diagonal lines (lazy lines) that are characteristic of the original are missing; the Teodor Tuduc workshop specialised mainly in copies of carpets from Transylvania, the fakes are sometimes hard to distinguish from the originals and there are certainly alleged "antiques" in various collections which upon closer inspection came from the factory of the famous master, the pattern of our piece originates from the historic West Anatolian Lotto carpets of the 16th century, with jagged palmettes and a border of arrow motifs, the pile consistently low, with a large flaw, numerous repairs, both ends with kilim ends, mounted on red linen on the back.
