A settee/garden bench, designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel c. 1830,
manufactured by a Prussian iron foundry, mid-19th century, black lacquered cast iron, on four legs, height approx. 80 cm, width approx. 110 cm, depth approx. 47 cm, height of seat approx. 45 cm.
Karl Friedrich Schinkel designed the model of the garden chair around 1830 for the „Römischen Bäder“ in the park of castle Sanssouci, Potsdam. The model was manufactured by several Prussian iron foundries, e.g.: Königlich-Preußische Eisengießerei, Berlin.
