Exhibition: Jörg Immendorff - Sculptures 1986-2005, Kulturbahnhof, Kassel 2007 (a different cast) Literature: Exhibition catalogue Kassel 2007, page 16, ill. page 17 (a different cast) Immendorff‘s art was always political. In 1969 his provocative and dadaesque campaign programme LIDL was banned by the Ministry of Culture, and Immendorff was expelled from the Düsseldorf Academy of Art. However, this did not harm his career. The „Victor“ may be a late reminder of this, and a humorous allusion to the conflicts within the cultural scene.
