Busse/Interviews What was the source of inspiration for your latest human face? I came across a facial form which interested me in a part of our consumer economy. A facial form which, for all intents and purposes, is incorporated in Pril washing-up liquid bottles. I was fascinated by the process of industrial production, cast in the personal effort of representing something. The attempt to unite a large ambivalence – on the one side the personal in a face, a collection of psychological structures, and on the other, to rediscover these again in the dead object of a sculpture, one which has been produced using industrial production methods. That interested me as a surface upon which to project a contemporary image of humanity.
