One-off piece for “The work on the strip exhibition”. The “strip” objects deal with our perception of furniture, the many gestalts that enable us to recognize a table as a table. “I made a table top with holes. When it came out I loved it. I know things can fall from the holes and I don’t care. It still can do many things a table needs”, describes Leibovich. “For instance it can be a table people sit next to and feel more comfortable they are not alone in the space. They are next to a table. It can also hold things that are bigger than the holes.” Leibovich sees design as “an opportunity of realizing an interesting event, trying to make new knowledge rather than redesigning old”.
