Known as a "Giraffenklavier", 1st half of the 19th century. Inscribed in a framed panel "Erfunden von Wachtl, Bleyer & Seuffert in Wien". A parallel strung frame and wooden sound board, with 6 octaves, original ivory keys, a mahogany case with ebonised C-shaped supports and bronze mounts, some of which restored. Ca. 186 x 117 x 55 cm. Some ageing and evidence of restoration, with parts altered and restored. Without guarantee for functioning and tone. (PZ) Subject to endangered species legislation (ASA)
