Southwest Caucasus, c. 218 x 154 cm, late 19th century, classic, large border decoration in archaic style with dominant white zig-zag band, on red ground, three hooked rhombi with decorative cube motifs, very rare is the large use of green; excellent, soft pile, original side edges, both ends with woven finishes and knotted warp threads; despite featuring mostly cotton wefts, the present carpet must be attributed to the Kazak region; fringes slightly damaged. A superb piece.
