“The light energy rushing through the space carries images with it. I consider light to be a transoptical substance that can carry images of unlimited scope”
Adolf Luther in: Dieter Honisch. Licht und Materie.

Eine Übersicht über das Lebenswerk mit Selbstzeugnissen des Künstlers, Recklinghausen 1978, n.p.

Adolf Luther had the various mirrors produced industrially, thereby allowing professionals to make his art a reality without causing its artistic substance to be lost. The small, square, concave and convex mirrors used in this piece have been processed further to form a dynamic concave mirror object. Based on precise observations and insights from natural science, this enables the energy of the light to be used in a targeted way as an energy-giving, space-changing force. Adolf “Luther’s exploratory art connected with and overlapped many of the most advanced feats attempted by contemporary art – but it was neither identical to them nor incorporated within them; it did not just enter uncharted artistic territory but also sharpened and adjusted our perception of the world. It is more up-to-date than ever before.”
Klaus Honnef in: Magdalena Broska, Adolf Luther.
