the animated architectural clock case with narrow and wide gilt edging, gilt decoration, delicate light purple, mint, and chamois grounds, surmounted by a female bust, wearing a floral wreath and blossoms along the neckline, “Flora” goddess of Spring, hanging from the pedestal a light purple caparison with moulded gilt sun, gilt rays and tassel, below a pediment with leaf rocailles, the terminals each with a dragon breathing fire, its winged and tailed body wound around the clock up to its top, the ledge supported on the left by an Atlas, clad in a lion skin and with arms raised, on the right by a Caryatid, supporting the weight with her shoulders, both figures using their garments to protect themselves and to get a better grip, the underside of the movement with a bearded and horned head of a faun, its mouth wide open, with teeth and demonic expression, the Caryatid rests her right hand on his forehead in a calming gesture, in a niche below the faun's head delicately painted polychrome asters and wild roses in "Weichmalerei" style, framed by gilt leaf rocailles, in the foreground a seated/reclining youth, both pointing at the faun in fear, below a depression with painted scale décor on a mint ground, 4 volute feet with elaborate gilt and light blue leaf rocailles, the facing side with a décor of light blue and gilt leafy tendrils, interspersed with shellwork heightened with gilt and light purple, the movement front covered with glass gilt bronze moulded edge, cobalt blue porcelain dial with gilt Roman numerals, gilt bouquets of flowers and gilt moulded clock hands, a central white porcelain plate decorated with open-work laurel branches and two scythes, attributes of Chronos, the edge with leaf rocailles, the back also with glass cover, height: 93 cm, width: 56 cm, minor restorations, pendulum and key included, clock movement has not been inspected;

Not least owing to its size and the complexity of its individual parts, this clock represents a technical and artistic pinnacle of porcelain craftsmanship. Extremely difficult and expensive to produce, the clock was repeatedly put on display to demonstrate the Manufactory's capabilities. In 1888, a model of the clock was shown at the "Deutsche Nationale Kunstgewerbe" exhibition in Munich, p 243, 1893 a historical view of the retail space of the KPM-shop. p 243, 1908 historic photograph showing the pendulum hanging from the faun's mouth. In 1904, the clock case was displayed at the St. Louis World Fair. Only three copies of this large format clock case are thought to exist currently.
