allegory of the Russian-Turkish war, the elephant with splendid caparison and tower on its back, 3 Russian soldiers in Roman dress, one throwing a stone, a second with sword and shield, the third with a lance, on the elephant's neck a little Moor guiding the animal, the base with flat wall fixture, brown rock base and green foliage, the facing side with wide and narrow gilt edging, light purple chain frieze above a gilt moulding, porcelain, polychromed and gilt, height: 39 cm, length: 37 cm, depth: 16 cm, minor restorations;
Meissen, underglaze blue crossed swords 2nd half 19th cent., model by Johann Joachim Kändler June and July 1773 for Oranienbaum, rare version (Ru)
