West Turkestan, c. 39 x 118 cm, early 19th century, exquisite six-gul torba with kotshanak border and coffered field at the centre of the primary motifs, so-called ‘double crest’ motifs in the animal heads of the chuval guls (also in another piece from this collection), c. 5,000 kts/sqm, with extremely soft wool, full pile, the kilim ends on both sides have been folded backwards.
