A French salon chest of drawers,
so-called ‘tombeau’ chest of drawers, mid-18th century, hardwood frame with serpentine and bombé shaping on three sides, with rosewood and tulipwood veneer as well as marquetry panels, polished finish, the front with 5 drawers, lavishly gilt and chased bronze mounts, partly in openwork execution, the left front support stamped I. B. FROMAGEAU (Jean Baptiste Fromageau, master as of 1755), moulded marble top, 85 x 125 x 63.5 cm, beautiful professionally restored condition. (MIN)
