1908–1912 study at the University of Applied Arts under Jan Preischer and Jakub Schikaneder.
1916–1920 member of the Mánes Association of Fine Artists
1920–1924 founding of the so-called “Social Group” together with Miloslav Holý, Karel Holan and Karel Kotrba.
1927–1932 member of Mánes again, subsequently also exhibiting with the Myslbek and Hollar artists’ associations.
1939 recipient of a silver medal at the World’s Fair in Paris.
