Prof. Josef Hoffmann, (1870-1956), first designed parts of the service in 1917, the complete service was presented in 1920. Made of delicate "muslin glass" it gained wide recognition during the 1925 Applied Art Exhibition in Paris, and has since come to be considered one of the ground breaking designs of the 20th century and has remained one of Lobmeyr's best sellers.
