Press photographer in the U.S. Army Corps, military service in Europe from 1944 onwards. After the end of World War II, official reporter of General Mark Clark, the US High Commissioner in Austria. From 1948 onwards, head of the USIS image department in Vienna. In 1954, return to the USA, and from 1963 onwards official and personal photographer of President Lyndon B. Johnson.
