An Elegant Empire Étagère,
Vienna, c. 1810/15, mahogany veneered soft and hardwood frame on 6-lobed base, domed column foot marquetried with fiddleback maple in the form of palmettes and leaves , 3 arched tapering columns with floral marquetry holding 2 large hexagonal shelves, round top with matching marquetry and sphere decor, height c. 138 cm, diameter c. 66 cm, slight signs of age and use. An identical piece is preserved in the MAK exhibition at the Geymüller Schlössel in Vienna.
