A Museum-Quality Upper Austrian Rustic Cabinet,
so-called wedding cabinet (‘Hochzeitsschrank’) from Gunskirchen, workshop of Urban Huemer, master carpenter in Aigen/Offenhausen c. 1780/85, spruce with moulded detachable cornice and canted angles, 2 doors with symmetrical depictions of “Maria Hilf” and the Trinity (Throne of Mercy), with “Saint Sebastian” and “Saint Florian” underneath, lesenes with floral paintwork in bands, and symmetrical depiction of a soldier, the sides with faux veneer painting in comb painting technique, c. 170 x 140 x 66 cm, beautiful original state.
