The sculptor Vera Deér was born in Budapest on 3 March 1912 and died in Baden near Vienna in 1994. From 1955 onwards she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where she also attended Fritz Wotruba’s sculpture master class alongside Alfred Hrdlicka, Joannis Avramidis and Erwin Reiter. She graduated with a degree in sculpture.
