The present service was used as table decoration for the film "Corsage", shot in Vienna from February to July 2021, starring Vicky Krieps. The film deals with the aging Empress Elisabeth and her (self-)image. Content: Christmas 1877, Elisabeth, Empress of Austria, turns 40. It is the average life expectancy for a woman in the late 19th century. As an empress, she has exclusively representative duties, stifled by courtly rituals. She is obsessed with her own image, which shows her everywhere as a beautiful, graceful woman, her unnatural narrow waist the beauty ideal of the time. However, she knows that her time is running out.
