Case: gold 750, elaborately decorated, number 6030/5I9, diameter c. 62 mm
Movement: gilt verge movement via chain and fusee, key wind-up, chased verge bridge, silver regulator disc, striking mechanism
Dial: two-coloured, Arabic numerals, two jacquemarts, applied motif with bells, fountain, plants, butterfly and bird
Accessories: winding tool with imitation stones
The name ‘jacquemart’ comes from the French Jacques (Jacob) and marteau (hammer). It refers to a male figure performing the chime on a tower clock, often accompanied by a Jacqueline. This item is in good condition, the dial has been restored, the glass shows some chipping, in need of repair.
