China, c. 38 x 38 cm (incl. frame), 19th century, insignias of rank used to be worn with a robe of state both on the front and on the back, the middle cut reveals that the present object is a front piece, silk and gold embroidery on black silk fabric, extremely good condition, mounted on fabric and wooden frame.
