Oudenaarde (Netherlands), c. 224 x 382 cm, about 1670, a figural group of aristocratic archers in a wooded landscape, the men standing in a row and attempting to shoot a decoy bird attached to a post, the towers of a town are visible on the horizon, very beautifully executed border frame with woven images of birds and music-making angels, very finely woven in silk and wool, in exceptionally good state of preservation, supported with large linen strips on the back.
