Jorinde Voigt often deals with the visualization of invisible everyday phenomena. Due to a correspondent step in her education, her early works concentrate on notation of music. Music being shown as energy fields which are set free in our bodies as parts of its acoustic orchestra. On the contrary, WV 2010-535 is the notation of quite literally energy meaning the energy sources oil, water, electricity and gas which Voigt has seen being illustrated on various maps during a visitation of a German energy company.
This artwork illustrates the energy fields affecting our bodies in every moment of our lives as part of the basic needs of today’s society. Seeming like an eclectic clutter from afar, WV 2010-535 reveals more and more - even technical - information as we approach the artwork. Its large format contains an abundance of details and information which disclose themselves as we take a closer look. WV 2010-535 represents itself like a detailed scientific map of the influence of manmade energy sources surrounding our everyday life.
